We are a grade 4/5 Elementary Classroom on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. We have a total of 20 students who are eager to learn about ham radio and start making connections. For all but one student, this is their first look at amateur radio and will be learning on the fly. We will be operating FT8 at the beginning as they get used to the phonetics, and then moving into a bit of SSB. They will also use some other digital modes such as Winlink and AREDN to gain awareness in other areas of amateur radio. We are currently using a Chameleon Emcomm Base III 130ft end fed antenna into a Yaesu 991a.
